The Arrival at Yellowstone National Park

As I talked with Jordan while he was on the road....I sensed his enthusiasm increasing as he got closer to Yellowstone. The trip just couldn't pass quick enough for him. I was excited to talk with him a little while ago and hear that he finally arrived on the grounds of Yellowstone after a few traffic jams and a long long long time in the car patiently driving/ riding. He's 2 hours behind our time, so that was an adjustment traveling. He's been so amazed at the number of animals and wildlife he's seen along the way... He said he was able to go on a short hike around the grounds and he saw an elk. His trailor is among other houses belonging to other park rangers, so , he's not so alone as I thought. He received a call from his "roomie" (or his partner that was also a SCA intern) stating that he was no longer going to be there for the summer. He has some sort of conflict with the NPS. I think there's more to the story, but I'm not sure we know the details. So, this means that Jordan has the trailor to himself for now.... speaking of the trailor..... I believe Jordan's boss was the one he said that pointed out bear droppings (a large pile) approximately 100 yards away from the trailor. He explained that the bear had spent the night sleeping on top of the pile last night......... interesting....frightening..... but he told me that the park is going to issue him his own bear spray (ASAP I hope). I believe he was relieved to find out that the backcountry ranger/ law enforcement man going with him on his excursions will be carrying a "piece." Cell phone signals are poor there and he's not quite sure where he's going to access the internet yet. He starts work at 8am in the morning, June 4th, so I think this will be his chance to get acclamated. I know he took some pictures on the way out to WY, so I hope he'll have a chance to post those in the next few days. Otherwise.....keep checking the blog as I know there's an exciting adventure ahead of Jordan as he arrived at Yellowstone very ready for it.....
