You're not gonna believe the type of stuff they are making me do. Today I had to help load up a bunch of material and supplies, put them on a boat, and then carry them across the lake to a channel. We then transferred the items to canoes, then we paddled them up the channel to the ranger cabin. It was blue skys, crystal clear water, bright sunshine, and green vegetation everywhere. They are even gonna make me spend weeks at a time in these cabins by the lake miles from civilization. I am miserable.
YEAH RIGHT! I am having so much fun! This place is unreal. Today was a blast. I was all decked out in a dry suit bc the water is still real cold (although that didnt stop me from taking a dip). After we boated across the lake to the channel (which is just a river flowing from the other lake) we got in the canoes and paddled two miles upstream until the current was so bad and we had to drag them the final mile. It was fun thrashing through the water. Then we ate lunch when we got to the cabin. Also, there was a dangerous part bc we found an animal carcass (sorry for the pic) and we had to be extremely careful bc bears will bed down beside or even on their kill. We had to get trash bags and remove it so hikers wouldnt get attacked. Anyway, tomorrow is my friday, and then i have 5 days off, and i'm not sure what type of fun i'm gonna get into. I have a real bad ingrown toenail and it hurts like hell, so I might take one day to stay off. My first backcountry trip is next week so I have to start prepare my gear and get supplies from town. Keep posting and I'll talk to yall later

I'm impressed with your work buddy! I must be tough to focus on work with the beautiful scenery. It's incredible. One thing - I hope I remember you telling me that at least someone in your group has "protection"?! Don't forget to be careful and take care of yourself. Love you.
Nobody fell for the sarcasm in the title. Don't be afraid to hook an old man up with some hunting opportunities out there. We could use your trailer as a base camp and go "Jeremiah Johnson" on them 'griz and mule deer and elk and anything else that moves.
Your blog is great and the first thing I check every morning. Keep enjoying yourself - you're living the dream. Who needs baseball?
Nice pic of dead carcass..haha I am so glad you are having such a great time! I knew you would such an amazing experience!
I don’t know if you realized it or not, but in one of your pictures a small woodlands animal seems to have found it was onto your chin. I am not an “outdoors man” like yourself but from my civilian eye it looks to be some sort of rodent. Just thought you should know! No… but for real it looks like you are enjoying yourself and being safe. Keep living it up!
