Yellowstone Update

Today was my first day off of 5, so I headed to Jackson to restock my supplies. Jackson was really crowded, probably bc this weekend is free admission to national parks and people are headed up. I got a lot of good supplies that should last me for a while, however, I spent $10 more than I make. Oh well. Anyway, the drive back from Jackson to Yellowstone was spectacular. Today was the prettiest day we have had, it was 65degrees, bright sunshine, crystal clear skys, and everything was green with the exception of the white mountain tops. I actually enjoyed the drive a lot. I got back and took care of some housekeepin stuff. I clean a little and got all my groceries in, and I mad some of Miss Bonnie's famous pimento cheese. I'm so pumped about it. A little taste of home. Anyway, after that I decide to drive up the road and go on a new hike, however, when I got there I discovered the trail was closed to bear activity (boo). So I drove way to another trail that is out of the park, and guess what, the road was closed after I drove all the way out there. I was almost upset, but as I was driving back I saw a trailhead sign and I looked and it wasnt on any of my maps. But I figured I'd come this far, dang it i'm gonna hike! So I hiked for about 3 miles or some, and then I did a little detour and climbed to the top of this cliff and got an awesome view of a river valley(the pic with my feet in it). I looked with my binocs and saw some elk and trumpeter swans and a majestic golden eagle. Then coming back i saw my first moose (I put a nice stalk on it that would have made ole Jedediah Smith proud.) Then I walked up to the river and noticed that something was swimming across and I got a good pic of the elk. Technically I could have bagged both the elk and moose(had they been in season) bc they were in the national forest and not the national park. I am washing a few clothes right now and then I'm gonna take a quick peek for the grizzlies before I go eat dinner. I'm debating on what I should do tomorrow, I might drive way up north in the park, but it will probably be crowded with the free weekend and I dont want to just sit in traffic.

Jordan, these pictures are incredible. I'm so proud you're utilizing your camera, although we've discussed the pics don'd do justice to the real life thing. I can only imagine what you're experiencing ... oh wait --> I will be soon! I can't wait. Continue to take care of yourself. Enjoy the pimento cheese! I hope the substitute for mayo worked out ok.P.s. Good job keeping up with your laundry. I'm proud. Have a great night! I love you!
